Rael's own guidance is to use products within 12 months of opening, so a mask that expired 2 months ago is past that window. For unopened, sealed masks stored cool, dry, and dark, the formula may still be usable for a short stretch past the printed date, but performance starts to drop and preservatives weaken. If the essence smells off, looks separated or discolored, or the sheet feels dried out, toss it. When in doubt, a fresh mask is the safer call.
